Permanent ATZ at Silverstone?

Post by Alastair Jack »

Hi

Was on a cross country this week and using Silverstone as a turning point. Gave courtesy call to nearby airfield and was told that there is now an ATZ at Silverstone and perhaps I should avoid it. Fair cop, but I just can't find any notification that an ATZ is now permanently in force there. Called Silverstone on the way back and they said that one had been applied for. Other radio operator was very insistent.

Thanks
Alastair

Thanks for the warning. Some research has come up with this:

Thanks for the link, Nick. Looks like a local arrangement between Turweston and Silverstone for the moment. Perhaps that was what the radio operator was referring to.

Regards
Alastair
