Old kit (but a good backup to GPS) so rare to find a bench tester - I had one in my earlier a/c so perhaps do as I did & test it in the air by comparing its needle indications to GPS track readings to a VOR using different magnetic headings.

There are also the std VOR preflight checks (ideally done on the ground at/near an airfield or site with a VOR) eg displacement of one, two , three etc dots on the needle and whether that equates to the correct no of degrees from the centred needle value on the OBS and reciprocals are correct +/- 180deg & correct To/From display flags, morse IDENT sound assuming its connected to your headphones.

Can't remember if NAV 11 also does ILS frequencies but if so you could see if the needle centres when you are physically lined up with the runway centreline.

Steve

Dave,

Just wanted to thank you for helping me out with my NAV 11. You were very helpful and your assistance is very much appreciated. Thanks for testing it and helping me to diagnose the issue (which was due to wiring in my AC).

Dean
