Rotax Warranty ?

Has anyone experienced an issue or know how Rotax view warranty commitments associated with a secondary purchaser of a part built project which included both aircraft and new engine, all of which was originally purchased in 2008. Project completed and just finished test flying. Rotax 912ULS had never been run until Feb & March 2011. Found warranty card amongst manuals. Read through conditions. Appears to state warranty is only valid if card sent in within 30 days of purchase. "Clearly not done by first purchaser", I only have about 7 hrs running time so would expect some protection over first 18 months of usage or 200 hrs as mentioned in conditions.

When I got mine back in 2003 it was 12 months from date of purchase. As my machine did not fly for 2 years after purchase this was as much use as a chocolate tea pot. Fortunately 5 years after first flight all is going well.
