I am travelling down to Barnstaple in a couple of weeks, and Chivenor is very close. Has any one any contact details or how to get permission to fly in ?

Hi John,

According to my 2010 AFE Flight Guide, it's helicopters only and not available to fixed wing ACFT. Military SAR H24 and operated by the Royal Marines. 01271 857220 (PPR). Worth a call, maybe.

Chivenor is not currently available to GA. Depending on your a/c type and experience, Belle Vue is the closest option for Barnstaple but the grass runway is shorter than in previous years and there's now a windfarm to the west that you should be aware of. PPR essential.
