Free mag classifieds

Post by Brian Hope »

National Council proposed that we should have a free ad section in the magazine for items £50 and under and I mentioned in the last magazine that this was being adopted. To date I have received one advert.
May issue goes to press next week and I can accept ads up until Tuesday morning. All you have to do is send me an email with the ad wording - simples.
Please continue to send your normal paid for ads to the office, only freebie, £50 and under direct to me at [email protected]
Thanks.

Hi Brian,
I've just stuck a few under a £100 items in the Sales section, I don't think many of us have much under £50 for sale as you know even secondhand items are getting more expensive as the costs of new continually rise. Do tell me to get lost if you don't agree, but would it not be prudent to mirror the under a £100 section in the magazine for those who want to?

Yours hopefully.

Hi Andrew, worth considering certainly. £50 was the figure I was asked to adopt by NC rather than something I dreamed up myself. Will think again.

BTW, Brian,

Slowly worked my way though April's mag to discover a missing chunk in the 'where to go' section.

June &n July have vanished ? Is this just my copy or ??

Mike. See your March issue for those "missing" months.
Actually, I think the matter is explained in that article in the April edition.

Cheers.

Don't worry Mike, you're not the only one who has asked me that. Obviously wasn't a very bright idea.

I've never quite appreciated why member services couldn't include free ads, but apparently there's a useful £1,500 or so towards the annual magazine costs.

If nothing else, members will maybe turn to the forum more often as they keep getting 'already sold' messages when they try buying things from the magazine that have been on the forum for a week or three.
