I am about to import the finishing kit for my RV10. Previously, I have used the C100 form (Simplified End User Certificate) to avoid import duty. This was a single, easy to complete piece of paper. It now appears to have been superceded by the C88 EU form which, naturally, appears enormously large and complicated
Is there an easy way to do this and save myself the 2.3% duty?

Try asking Jon at Big Misters as he is the expert. I have an EU number and all the paperwork from my first imports. However my last import did not use the C100 but was done on-line by the importer and I just received a print out afterwards. Painless and no paperwork.

The post office aren't that good they just pass it through regardless and then add the £10 fee to the duty and add VAT on top I got caught with some parts and books which all caught the tax even although exempt. It is impossible to get your money back as you go from pillar to post never getting anywhere. UPS and DHL are very good at getting it through correctly.

Thanks - I think I have worked it out. It seems the handling agent has to submit the C88 and there is a standard set of codes to use in the so-called "simplified" procedure. Just hope my man knows how to do it. I'll use the contacts given if there is any problem.
