Wind
Well I've just flown in 45 mph winds at 2000 feet, my highest ever! If I'd thought I could have put the flaps down and had a gps log showing 0 at 2000 feet! Not to bad low down though.

How fast ??
Rob
I once managed 26 kt backwards in a Jodel. I had 50 kt indicated airspeed at about 2500 ft.
There must have been some strong wave about in the lee of the Pennines. Sometimes the very strong winds associated with wave come down to quite low levels.
Funny thing was, on the ground it wasn't unusually windy, just a layer of turbulence in the climb and descent. Once in the wave it was a very smooth ride.
