Hmmm, Thanks for this Ian. You should be logged into both places automatically - so definitely some issue that needs resovling.

I don't think the username is case sensitive - the password definitely is

You should also be kept logged in until you choose to logout - what browser/version are you using ?

Regards

Paul.

There is a problem with the view unread posts button if you log in it is there if the system remembers you this control button is not there. I have to log out and back in again, a real pain. Can this be checked.

Thanks, Ian

Paul, I am sure that the dual login is trying to work. I am also sure that the user name for the PHPBB is case sensitive. I can repeat this issue at will.

If I try to log in with the incorrect all lower case user name it logs into DruPal OK, but fails PHPBB.
Changing to the correct case it will log into both OK

I have tried IE9, FF10 and Chrome 19. All on a Window 7 64bit box. IE8 on XP Box and Blackberry browser on the phone. The issue is the same on each.

It should be easy to test with your own login. Just change the case of one letter of your user name to upper case.

Seems to be staying logged in now

Steering the forum back to AEROPLANES !

Saw this today on the BMAA forum (tongue in cheek, but oh so near the knuckle).

Quote ".........Methinks we are still suffering from the VC 10/Brabason/Brittania mind set when only Brits knew best.
Not long ago, a plane being sold all over the planet was eventually allowed into the UK market on the proviso it had an extra inch added to its fin!, all on the say-so of the Boss of that organisation. That speaks volumes of how we are trapped into this Island mentality which is frankly killing our get-up-and-go.
A guest from the Czech Republic was recently oozing on about their industry, exporting all over the world and helping the country survive. The cohort of CAA/BMAA/LAA is working against the old Brit spirit and we will all suffer as a result.
Dont get me wrong PD, as you will be the first to reply, I have nothing against any individual, just the mindset which either changes or we all suffer, ( apart from a few importers licensed to 'make a living')" UNQUOTE

So if this one inch nonsense is true, perhaps the man is right - we Brits deserve to be losers as no flying machine is magically much 'safer' by such a mod. AFIR Rans got fed up making special kits just for the UK market.

Hi Mike,
This thread is about the new forum, would it not be better to start a new thread on your chosen subject? Less confusing that way?

Hangar chat is not exclusivly about aircraft, but also the LAA. One could argue that your quote was not about aircraft but about politics, standards or policies. :)
