I am looking for a piece 1 ft 11" * 5 ins (metric equivalent 588mm * 127mm).
Its for a template so a scruffy piece with surface scratches and/or corrosion is fine.

If you have a piece please call me on 01509 853902.

Richard,

why 4130 if it's for a template?

Colin,

it would last a little better than the average mild steel - would it not?
Its clearly not a matter of life or death however.

No, it is just lot harder to file cut and work, mild steel would be fine for that purpose

Yes - and a lot less prone to damage from casual mishandling - its also much much better than nougat.
