Am I the only one that finds the current stand on 'over 65's not fly young people' somewhat an insult.
Does anyone know why the bar to over 65 has come into place. The LAA seems happy to take my money, of course the senior rate, but why the bar.
I was told it is because the CAA has information that the over 65's are a greater risk, what risk.
Or is this another case of we have the information but national security prevents us from sharing it.
The scouts do not have this requirement, so why the LAA?

You are most certainly not the only one. I would suggest that if the older chaps have a valid licence and insurance that they are as equipped as anyone to fly passengers. Does 50 or more years of experience count for nothing?

I think that this is in line with the mandatory retirement age for commercial pilots. There are quite a few of them that aren't happy with the 65 limit!
