Nppl to LAPL

Post by C Rule » Mon Aug 12, 2013 6:55 pm

Has anyone converted a NPPL (subsequent to an ALTP) to an LAPL?
If so do you have any tips, do's and don'ts?
Any advice gratefully received.

Yes. It is quite simple.

Get medical:
http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/49/LAPL%20App ... 160%29.pdf
or
http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/49/GP%20Medic ... 20Form.pdf (this is more difficult to obtain)

Fill in application form: http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/33/SRG1104FFenabled.pdf

Send off to the CAA and hope they don't lose it.

If you don't know it for sure, check with the CAA that you have a current English proficiency level or they will reject your application if you haven't. A flight examiner can do one for you if needed, just take a 1199 form and photo Id plus a photocopy of the photo id

Signing of English Proficiency and of paperwork/forms is available in the LAA tent at the LAA Rally on Saturday and Sunday.
