LAA-AGM. Oct22nd 2016

Post by Chris Martyr » Tue Oct 04, 2016 7:00 pm

I am sure that the subject of this post needs no introduction .

I am also sure that one of the Motions being tabled here regarding a past winner of the Bill Woodhams Award needs no introduction either. It is being proposed by Barry Tempest with myself nominated as Seconder.
It is anticipated that this will be a fairly well attended event and anyone with an opinion on this is encouraged to vote accordingly , but the importance of voting either as an attendee , or by-proxy cannot be over-stated , as it is thought that the by-proxy votes will be extremely pivotal in deciding the outcome of all this.
There is no need to re-kindle anything from the past in this thread as I think it's all been said [about a million times ]
This is the chance to put it to bed for good ! Thanks for reading this.

I hope to attend the LAA AGM on 22nd, but this will be purely dependant on the weather, as I will only be able to attend if I can fly in to Sywell. I am out of the country until 20th and have limited access to both a Printer & Post.
Chris Martyr, although we have not met, I would like to pass my Proxy to you, (in case I cannot attend), as from your posts, your view on the TCT topic are broadly similar to mine.
I would like to provide my Proxy by e-mail. Is this acceptable to the LAA, or must it be in written form ?

Bob, electronic presentation of the Proxy is permitted but it will need to be electronically signed. Also, if you wish A.N.Other to have your proxy rather than the LAA Chairman, you will need to fill out the appropriate section and initial that change, as stated on the form.
The form can be downloaded from the AGM 2016 tab on this site.

Hi Bob,
I would have no problem at all in acting as your proxy. I am however, acting as a by-proxy voter for another member and to be honest , I am not sure if there is a limit on this for someone in my capacity as a normal member.

As Brian says, if you look at the LAA home page , it does state that the Chairman of the meeting can act as proxy for any persons wishing to vote that way. Also , the next LA mag will have a by-proxy voting form with it as well, so there are several methods available to do this if you wish.

But if you do make it to Sywell , I will be delighted to meet you .

I did my proxy vote. Simply printed it out, filled it in, scanned it and sent by email to the LAA office.

Had a reply, all okay.

The default setting on the form is that the chairman of the meeting will place your votes (as completed at the bottom of the form) on your behalf - there is no requirement to nominate anyone at all.

Thanks for the replies.
I have now submitted my Proxy, accepting the Chairman, but indicating my vote.
I've also learnt a new skill - how to add an Electronic Signature to a document using Adobe :)

My ancient pooter can't decode the proxy form, so I'm waiting for the magazine. I hope it arrives in time...

Hi Nic, the mag was posted yesterday (Friday) so should be with members early in the week.
I'm sorry it is late. Like most aircraft accidents it was due to a combination of factors but the main one is that we needed to move our print slot back a bit, which wasn't normally a problem but, having changed to a different printer a couple of months ago, they proved far less flexible in changing slot times. A lesson learned.

Thanks Brian. I suspect these things are probably more frustrating to you than us; only at this time of year iis it even remotely an issue as I wanted to be sure I could exercise my democratic thingummy. The alternative is to drag the pooter into the current decade, but having just had to get a new mobile, I'm not ready for the trauma. There's a reason I fly a 70 year old dame...
