REVISED SELF-DECLARED MEDICAL FORM ISSUED BY CAA

Hi Joe, my understanding is that, as Nic says, you get the form returned to you by the CAA as approved. If you don't get a response, something has gone wrong and you do not have a Self Declaration. That said, I haven't found anywhere that tells you that's the case. Has anybody else seen any official comment to that effect?

Hi Nick/Brian,
Many thanks for your input re my dilemma. I believe that the source of my problem was that I tried to send in my declaration using my laptop which has Zorin (Unbutu) O/S installed. Once I fired up my old desktop which is still driven by the ancient XP and sent it from that machine it went through without a hitch and I immediately received a dated copy via e-mail from the CAA as an acknowledgement. One nevertheless wonders why would it not have been simpler to download/print the form, fill it out and stick a second class stamp on the envelope, thereby helping out the Post Office of HM with a modest contribution to its continued well-being. (My age begins to show through, I am afraid.)

Glad it's all ok. The notes with the form about the technology are quite important, as some have found...

As for the hard copy stuff: anything more than an automatic e-mail from the CAA will come with a cost - and a charge more than that cost.
