Anyone already cleared for IFR?

Just wondering what your setup is especially for back up roll indication if you do not have a vacuum system.

Not really, there you have a vac gyro, looking for what people are doing without a vac system.

There are many solid state gyros on the market. Most via USA outlets but deep research and discussion with a friend user led to this one as good value.

I have just ordered off Mendelssohns' an "Avmap Ultra EFIS" which is a full IFR ability Artificial Horizon & most other needs for staying the right way up with Nav too, its own GPS & goes in a 3" panel cut out - so it will fit when the redundant VSI is removed.

Looked at that but how suitable is it as a backup as it does not seem to have a backup battery?
