I do so hope that I am not misreading this , but I've just noticed at the bottom of the 'Board Index' page that our membership stats show 8993 members.
If so , then that is amazing and good for us all.
With view to certain other circumstances , I would like to clarify that I'm not trying to reinvigorate 'that thread' by the back door. So please don't !
But wouldn't it be great to get it into the 9,000's . This must surely be an all-time high....

But Bill,,,,,that's good news !
When it's quiet here , then that means that everything's well and all is normal in LAA land .
G'night John-Boy .

Nine thousand would be great but recently we’ve been cited as having a membership of 7600-ish. Which are we?
Do the voices in my head count as more than one?

Not now I have joined
Forgive my ignorance but is the magazine free as part of the membership?

Agreed Alan.
Just been reading Nigel Hitchmans report from Oshkosh.
I had the pleasure of meeting and dining with Nigel in Chiang Mai,Thailand earlier this year.
Given his comments on the AGM thread I hope I am forgiven for my involvement elsewhere.
The November issue should make interesting reading.

Well , the 'clapometer' has just pinged over to 9,000 members now...
Which , if true is fantastic ! But does it mean all persons who have contributed to this forum since its inception ? Because if that is the case , then it may not necessarily mean that we currently have 9,000 current members .
Someone ,,,please put me out of this misery ...

Hi Chris, the membership is around 7,700. I haven't a clue what that 9000 figure refers to but I'll ask and let you know.

Thanks for the confirmation Brian .
Although I'm sure that it is probably just some sort of cumulative/archive type data that has been factored in . You don't need to go busting a gut on my behalf mate , I'm probably the only saddo who picked up on it in the first place...

Ouch!

Steve Slater has confirmed to me in an email the LAA has received a letter of resignation from TCT.

The 9,000 figure actually appears to be a list of registered users on the website, as opposed to a list of members. Since it lists how many posts each has made, possibly it contains people who have left?

Matthew is correct, it is the number of people who have registered to use the web site. Not all members will have done so, some that did will have left, and in the early days the forum was open to non members who would have registered to use the forum. So it doesn't really tell us much that is of any use!
