Why am I locked out of the picture site?

Post by G.Dawes » Fri Jul 18, 2008 10:04 pm

Precisely , why am I locked out of the picture library? I am logged into the forum but cant get into the pictures, I am told that my login must have alphanumeric figures that are not mixed etc etc. Why is the site different from the other login are they worried we might see state secrets, the pictures are only pictures of our little planes not eurofighter drawings.
Anyone else having problems? :?:

I don't remember why but the photo site cannot use our normal user name & password to log on. When you register for it you are sent a new password just for the photo site, which obviously you can change - and yes it is alphanumeric.

It is asking for a user name,?????? what is that if it isn't my name as per the logon for the forum, there seems to be no way of registering if you don't have a user name you actually know ,and no way of getting one if you haven't. Anyone else out there as thick as me? maybe someone can lead me into it a bit at a time.

You cannot get into the picture site cos it's completely broken.

The LAA web site should be a key instrument in attracting new members.

It needs a professional makeover It's too important to be left in the hands of well meaning amateurs.

If you think that is will be too expensive, go figure how many new members we could get if we had a good web site

Graham,

can you please say what happens when you click the picture button on sidebar. When I do so I go straight to the picture library, no questions asked, no sign in called for.

Please help me understand the problem.

What happens is that I get the site with thumbnails, but if I try and enlarge anything, it goes blank for two minutes and then says I am not a member and join, or else??? I haven't bothered to try and put anything on it as I would probably have the boys 'round.
Maybe a better link to the forum, but I also had a lot of problems getting on to that until Penny gave me a new username and password. :?

As the person with responsibility for the Photo library site are there any more prolems with logging in?
We have fixed most things but as I cannot see the problem since I have been accepted it is difficult to be sure. An email to [email protected] will get a reply.
It was the intention that the main data was reserved for members but that others would be allowed a taster so see the site so that enthusiasts who are interested in such things might join.

Stu. It didn't accept a "space" as a valid part of the user name so my attempt to log in using my forum ID (real name) failed. As mentioned above I couldn't find any way to register online just get invited to join the LAA. Perhaps I am missing something.

Guys,

I also had problems registering but finally it worked today after contacting Penny. Received an e.mail with a password as previous, but this time it let me register. Give it a try, the gremlins may have been exorcised. The "Alphanumeric" requirement has gone as well now.

We understand the procedures better as we sort out the problems.

The system still does not accept spaces in the username and that is built in so we cannot change it.

So please make your username without spaces - I have given some advice on the join page eg SNeale as a username then use your standard name as the display name eg Steve Neale

If you have problems contact me or Penny we can reset it and send you another another welcome email. There are occasions when the system says you are registered and you are not but we now know how to check if you advise us.

email [email protected] by replying to the welcome email and give me any other pertinent info and a telephone number and I will sort it out.

So far the archive has 370 members.
