Anything in particular you are after? Anything you want to sell under £100?

VW Conversion - Peacock - mags and kit available

Post by Nigel Ramsay » Sat Sep 06, 2008 4:09 pm

I'm about to start dismantling a VW. As I've acquired a Leburg Ignition System, there will be a complete Peacock twin mag conversion available. As the engine has hardly run, I believe the mags will be 'as new'. Anyone interested?

Nigel,

Was the engine fitted with mechanical tacho and if so do you still have the bits?

Yes and No. I'm keeping the mech tacho, they are generally more accurate and reliable than electronic.

Well done John, hopefully you got a good deal! NO, you can't have the Leburg! However, I'm looking at an alternative system at the moment, just in case support is not forthcoming for Leburg systems. Too early to say anything though, at least in public.

I've got a pile of Peacock bits here as spares for an engine that I sold years ago. Might even be bits of tacho, although the 90 degree drive was cracked when it can out. I know where to get another. I've kept the bits just in case the Leburg situation was not resolved.
Any news in that direction?

I heard today that David Mickleburgh's son may be keeping the Leburg business going. Good if he can.

For Cardiff Rob -

Please contact me on following number to discuss availability of tacho drive parts you have.

Rather than phone your mobile from my mobile whilst sat in a hotel in Egypt, could you email me?
I have 2 assemblies of tacho parts. One is in need of a new 90 degree gearbox (1950s motorbike) and the other seems to be designed for a vertical cable.

Thanks

Rob

It would be better not to post phone an email details on the forum. Nasty people harvest then for SPAM etc. Once the info has been read by David, I would edit the posts to remove the info.
