ROTAX V JABIRU

HELLO ALL,AT THE MOMENT I OWN A CHALLENGER2 WITH ROTAX 2/STROKE BUT AM LOOKING TO BUY RANS S6 WITH 4/STROKE AND WAS WONDERING WHICH IS THE BETTER ENGINE.THE ROTAX 912 OR JABIRU2.2.I WOULD BE VERY GRATEFULL FOR ANY COMENTS ON THE SUBJECT

This issue has been discussed at many levels.
The Rotax 912 is a hard act to follow.
It is well proven and dependable.

The Jabiru is quite widespread too, it seems to work well in certain circumstances and not so well in others, you pay your money and take your pick. My opinion, and it is only my own opinion, go for the 912, it has a pretty good track record and many thousand units are in use worldwide, it seems to be the engine of choice at the moment.

It would pay you to visit SPLASH , I fly behind a Jabiru ,a good engine , Rotax is mainly Mogas , read some of Hangar Chat , but why not have a look at the UL 260 it looks and sounds good and it is on a stand at splash , BR

There is another option Ecofly. While the aviation version of the smart car engine is relatively new and therefore caution is required, the design specification for the original engine (weight, size, noise and engine management) gives an unusually good starting point for an auto conversion. Unlike most auto conversions the original manufacturer appear to be publicly supporting its use, I feel this would not be happening unless they had confidence in the people and engineering behind the conversion.
