NATS are consulting on a proposal to give back part of the Manchester CTR to Class G. This involves raising the lid on the low level route by 50ft (don't get too excited now) and cutting off the top left and bottom right corners of the CTR.
We think the LLR could be raised by more than that, increasing safety for aircraft in the route and for people and property below. We also think Liverpool CTR at the bottom left of the LLR should be given back as it has no public transport purpose. Similarly the lower levels of the bottom right of the Manchester CTR do not feature in published routings.
If you want to give NATS your opinion on this, please follow the link from the LAA homepage. The deadline is 31 January.
