Noise Cerificate

Post by Pete »

I have just received a permit to test to fly my KR2 with a different prop.

In the standard letter from Francis, it mentions obtaining a new noise certificate. I was unaware that a noise certificate was required for a permit aircraft, is this something new ?

How do I find out what the acceptable noise limit is, and how do I go about getting a certificate ?

It's only for microlights.

You may be sub-450kg but the KR2 does not qualify on wing loading etc. as a microlight.

It's not possible to have a noise certificate for other permit aircraft, as there isn't any requirement or basis under which one could be issued in the UK.

That's my understanding anyway.

Pick up the phone dial 01280 846786 then, 1 when requested, and now you can ask LAA Engineering. They will know.

OR failling this try PHil Brookman 01509 821906 or he not about try Ken Atkinson 01229 861439. Both of these members are the contacts for the Rand KR2 Enthusiasts group.

That shoud solve your problem.
