£3500 apparently seems a lot for a non-runner !!.Though it looked quite tidy in the pictures.

I think I sold my Slingsby for too little now  Single seaters seem to be going for good money recently.

This D9 is based on the same strip as me and after importing it from Belgium the owner toured far and wide in it over a couple of years. It was in regular use until the owner bought a two seat Jodel and the D9 has rested in its hangar for a while. It seemed to be kept in good tidy order and hopefully the new owner will be able to sort the reported engine starting problem quickly and then get years of enjoyment out of it.

Ivan I think you had to sell in a hurry never good for getting a high price plus the large wingspan on a motor tutor restricts the number of potential purchasers.D9 s fall into what I call "Iconic aeroplanes" which also pushes prices up.Hope your getting life sorted and an aeroplane features in your life again soon you deserve nothing less after your adventures in the tutor....a modern "airymouse".

I actually inquired about this Bebe in 2006. The owner was then holding out for around £5000 or more. I heard it was a little on the heavy side through the grapevine and being 'on the heavy side' myself, decided to leave it! My own D9 cost a great deal less as a non-runner, but as I now need to do a complete engine overhaul it's going to be nearer £3000 in the air - still very good value! I too hope the new owner has a good buy; if starting probs are all there are then it will be excellent!

I was pipped at the post for this! So the nascent Hinton D9 group still looks for its aircraft... Good luck to whoever managed to get their hands on it. (We were going to look at this aircraft last year, but failed to organise ourselves to make the trip, and we too thought the advertised price was way too high. However, we would certainly have paid then more than the eBay sale now...)

Thanks for spotting that, Nigel. Now I wonder why the first sale fell through....?

I was watching it out of interest last time, but unfortunately I deleted it after it sold, so I can't remember who won it. We could have asked them!

Still worth having a go at if you want one I would have thought. It's complete and hopefully easy to re-permit, but a check on the trailing edges would be a good idea prior to bidding (to see if the glue is ok).

Apparently the previous auction was won by a Frenchman (coals? Newcastle?) who then found he couldn't easily get it back to France. Doh!

It's the one-piece wing which is the problem! I moved mine from Headcorn in a 40' Glider trailer; surely he would have realised the same?
