Norwich bids for Lebensraum
The consultation about establishing controlled airspace at Norwich ends on Friday 28 August. They think they have a problem with military aircraft but canot resolve it with MOD so are going for control of a big chunk of Class D in North Norfolk to solve their issue.
Norwich traffic is down about 20% year on year and there are not many military aircraft left in East Anglia these days either so their statements about continued growth are just untrue. Perhaps they think we will believe anything.
As well as excluding a large proportion of aircraft, the proposal would create choke points around the periphery increasing the risk of conflict between military aircraft and GA as well as with helicopters serving the North Sea who don't seem to be considered in the consultation.
The LAA opposes this proposal and urges you to review the issues and send a response of your own. The details and links can be reached through the consultation tab on the left side of the screen. Please also ask all your friends to respond as well. Friday 28 August is the deadline
Thanks, John

Objection sent...here,s hoping.Next we need to wrestle the Donaster class D out of existence.Rumour has it though that the Peel Group are finding the Doncaster adventure very expensive.Maybe they will tire of the cost of providing air traffic services to protect a virtually non existent level of commercial air transport. For once accountants may even further our cause!!.VBR Stampe
