Doublethink...or is it thoughtcrime

I can't help noticing that one of the EC members claims to have been a member of the LAA since 1998...The next time I pay homage at Orwell's grave I shall smile a little at this.

year zero

What's the problem Nick? Do you consider all members now start again from year zero? I shall consider myself a member since whenever it was I joined the old PFA,no doubt the EC member has done the same.

No, what I meant was that as written it appears as if the LAA has been in existence since year X, and the PFA has been airbrushed out -- hence my Orwellian reference. The text could have been rewritten to say e.g. ...I joined the Association in 1998. I'm not claiming any great conspiracy here: I assume the the web people were told to replace PFA with LAA throughout, but this throws up these amusing -- to me at least -- anomalies. It's also, of course, at odds with trying to launch a new organisation if the text makes it look like an old one...
