Unable to renew membership online

Post by jamespearce »

Must be a bug. My DOB is correct in my account details - DD/MM/YYYY but for some bizarre reason shows as MM/DD/YYYY on submission form after completing card details. Error reported as please complete DOB (obviously the format is not recognised) Anyone else have the same issue or know the answer?

James, you are not alone out there mate !

Two weeks ago , I was in exactly the same situation. Tried it twice , then gave up and decided to call Turweston direct. Mind you, talking to the lovely Sheila was a pleasure in itself , but I am sure they have far more higher priority things on their list than yacking on the blower with us lot !

I did wonder about putting a post on here myself, as I believe that the website could do with a bit of a fine-tune and a grease-up , not just in the subscription renewals bit , but fairly generally. But I didn't want it to come across as a whinge .
Interesting though , now that you have mentioned it , how many others have had trouble giving their money over to the LAA . :D

Thanks Chris. I just tried again but the date format on the submission page is stubbornly stuck on MM/DD/YYYY and unacceptable to the process. I don't think New Years Eve is the time to expect an answer. I shall just have to wait until next year and try again  James.

Mine just gets done by direct debit. Never have to think about it - it just works. Done that for years and years.

You are right Jonathan, DD is indeed very simple and straightforward. But renewing 'on-line' should also be simplicity in itself . But it ain't .

Yes, I had the same problem over the Christmas period. The form reverts to American style date and then rejects the application as incorrect. In the end I did a bankers transfer!

Hi all, it should be working again now. The system had an upgrade over the break and seemed to have defaulted back to the US format. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Funny,,,,,but I'm getting a distinct feeling of 'deja-vu' here ... :D

Well , it's not that I've been unable to renew online , but despite clicking on to the 'Renew Membership' bit , I haven't received my 2018 membership card yet and it was done on Dec 22nd '17.

I DO have an e-mailed receipt for £80-00 , but I notice that it doesn't show my membership no. 022516 anywhere and the wording on the receipt almost looks like it's for a first-time application and not a renewal.
I'm sure I am still a member , but it would be great to be able to prove it .
I don't have to show a printed-off receipt to prove my membership do I ?.........[not cool, 8) ]

While logged in. If you go to the member area on the right and click 'Member Dashboard' it should show you transactions and your membership status.

Nope,,,,,,'Member Dashboard' shows nuffink.

But I did get this months excellent LA mag 2 days ago , so I guess I am still a 'Remainer',,
And I haven't been slung off here yet . [which some would say should've happened years ago.. :D ]

May one assume that the credit-card sized members card hasn't become a thing of the past ?

Yours faithfully , 'Worried' :D, West Sussex

I think you may need to call the office on Monday.
My renewal is not due for a few months yet, but yes the membership card is still thae same. I have automatic renewals so have never been through the process of doing it on-line.
