First flight Onex #117, PH-VDK on May 24th 2018

Post by dirkverdonck »

Hi All,
I am an overseas LAA member so am not allowed to post project details on the website as my Onex is not G-registered.
Nevertheless I want to inform all interested that Onex 117, PH-VDK, has made it's maiden flight on Thursday 24 May over the Belgian Coast near Koksijde.
The flight lasted half an hour and an acceptable landing was performed at the second attempt!
The aircraft flew hands-off first time and indicated cruise speed was 110 kias so I expect a little more after the engine comes loose.
Don't now how to attach a picture but you can check Youtube and select 'Onex #117'
Blue Skies,
Dirk

Congratulations, Dirk! Perhaps if you sent a photo and a little write-up to Brian he could find space in the magazine for it.

Hello Nick,
I'll send a short story to Brian and I have in the mean time removed and replaced my video on youtube by a higher quality version.

Great to read the piece in this month's LAA magazine. Good to hear experiences from outside the UK.
