permit aircraft in Spain and Portugal

Post by sswift »

Does anyone know if it is still necessary to obtain permission to fly a permit aircraft in Spain and Portugal?

Thanks

I haven't heard that it has changed in either, and it was required within the last couple of years.

Here's the application form for Spain (includes email address to send it to), if you don't already have a link. The form refers to "ULM" but reportedly works OK for LAA Permit types as well. (I've just checked TL2.08 - this is the form referred to there.)

Here is the form for ULM and this is the form for GA without the ULM typo.
They call for a Class 2 medical, but a LAPL is acceptable, if appropriate.

The email address on the forms is out of date.

Send the future request to that address.

Just to add: Spain - You can get a six month permit, but only if the validity of your aircraft permit, medical, licence and insurance policy exceed that period. Otherwise, it will granted until the earliest expiry date on any of those.

Don't let the permit CofV expire; my understanding is that the LAA cannot allow a PtF test flight (or a permit to test) AFTER the expiry of the old Certificate of Validity date. You would need a truck to bring it back to the UK for that.
