They were crowing on about the super security that the customers have to go through etc etc. Then it changed to a view of the little C150 taxying out, and the subject changed to , Of course there is no control over these smaller aircraft and there are no checks on them yet, they are a security danger. They then cut to a map with our farmstrip on, going on to say that some aircraft are being used out of illegal farm fields with no control at all over who they are,or what they are doing. I got the impression that something is going to become a 'NEW INITIATIVE', to stop terror attack.
The BBC had obviously taken some little research to make a Shock Horror story.
Please someone get on to them at the BBC and get the other side over quickly that this is a hobby, leisure pastime not a way of killing thousands as of yet, untapped by the demented.
My local strip owner recently had the Head of the local anti terrorist squad harping on about the danger of strips, but reacted well when told that everyone there is known and any strange behaviour would be noticed immediately. He hadn't thought of that.
Stopping strip flying would kill our sport the same as banning leisure boats on canals would, to that pastime.
Did anyone else see the article and what did they think to it?

Graham Dawes
